America’s Sweetheart AKA Sweetie is an early oughts' rom-com superstar, whose career, 20 years after her show, hasn’t amounted to much. To create buzz for her newest film that she wrote, directed and starred in, Sweetie enlists the help of her ex-co-stars who run a successful podcast. Her plan, to have a meltdown on their live stream then reveal to the world that the viral moment was fake. After years of career resentment, her co-stars aim to humiliate her instead. In the wake of the podcast, Sweetie gets her movie deal pulled and her co-stars get cancelled for airing her “mental health crisis” Now to save their careers, everyone must out-flank the other or risk permanent damage to their stardom.
